Princess Anne Building
When the Princess Anne Hotel was built in 1914 it immediately became the finest destination for dining and resting for travelers on the bumpy road between the nation's capitol in Washington, D.C. and the capitol of the Confederacy in Richmond, Virginia. Horse-drawn carriages and primitive autos delivered early 20th century newsmakers of national and international renown including Winston Churchill, Warren Harding, Lloyd George and many others. The Princess Anne is magnificent for its architecture and for the stories its walls might tell.
Renovated and converted to offices in 1978, the five story Princess Anne Building today houses offices and suites. Magnificent views of the downtown area.
